The Story of Seaway Marketplace

Our Story

For over ten years, Seaway Marketplace has been serving the great community of Detroit as an affordable option for groceries and other services.

Our story began in 2004 when our doors were opened for the first time. Equipped with over 30 years of experience in running stores inner city Detroit, Eddie Aboona decided that the location on West Chicago Street was perfect for his next venture. Over the last 10 years, Seaway Marketplace has become part of this community. We have accomplished this by following our three pillars of business. The first is that we offer quality products at reasonable costs. Second, we take every measure to maintain a clean store. Lastly, we look to provide prompt service to all of our customers. Accomplishing these three objectives is our main focus for each and every customer.

We strive to meet the needs of our customers while maintaining affordable prices. We pride ourselves on providing fresh meats and produce and we take the necessary steps to ensure quality on everything we sell. We also offer specialty cuts of meats, special holiday items, and much more to meet the needs of our customers. We keep our business local by patronizing local vendors. Further, we look to employ people from our own community to operate our store. We also offer many additional services for our customers, including Moneygram, utility payments, and check cashing services.

An important part of our business is to make certain that our customers are presented with a clean store. Further, we look to establish quick checkout times for our customers, whether they are shopping for groceries or utilizing the Customer Service desk.

For those of you who have shopped at Seaway Marketplace in the past and will continue to do so, we thank you. Without our customers, we wouldn't be where we are now.

To those who haven't, we hope that you give us a chance to win your business!

Thank you,

From the staff of Seaway Marketplace
